Primary IV Set
with Universal Spike, Backcheck Valve, and three Injection Sites
Sterile and non-pyrogenic. 1 unit 150 cm long, approximately 15 drops/ml. For single use only. Do not allow air to be trapped in set. Puncturing drip chamber or tubing may cause air embolism.
Fluid path and areas under end protectors are:
• Sterile
• Nonpyrogenic
DIRECTIONS:
- Close roller clamp. Fully spike container. Hang fluid container per institutional protocol. Gently squeeze and release drip chamber until approximately ½ full.
Note: Vent cap should remain in the closed position unless infusing from a solid stopper glass bottle.
- Purge air. Invert and tap backcheck valve and injection sites while fluid is flowing.
- Slowly open roller clamp and adjust for desired flow rate.
For Use With Secondary Container
4. Lower primary container using an 8 in. hook. Use upper injection site. Flow must not be controlled by secondary set clamp. Refer to Directions for Use provided with the secondary set in use.
Replace set every 24 hours or per CDC guidelines and/or institutional protocol.
