There are many causes for kidney disease (also called renal disease) resulting in a variety of uncomfortable and life threatening symptoms for your dog. Kidney disease can be either sudden (acute) or occur gradually (chronic). Prescription Diet® Canine k/d® is specially formulated by veterinarians to help manage dogs with kidney disease. Kidney disease may develop because of other diseases or changes in health, breed/hereditary tendencies and even nutritional factors. Signs of kidney disease don&39;t usually appear until more than two-thirds of kidney function are lost. Prescription Diet® Canine k/d® is clinically proven to extend and improve quality of life in dogs with kidney disease. The nutritional formulation of Prescription Diet® k/d® may also be useful for pets with a variety of conditions.
Daily Feeding Guide
These ranges are a starting point only. Your pet may need less or more food to maintain proper weight. Adjust as needed. If you are unsure, ask your veterinarian.
Keep fresh water available at all times.
With your veterinarian's approval, mix increasing amounts of your pet's new food with decreasing amounts of the old food over a 7-day period.
Canine k/d® is available in canned and dry. Supplementation with other foods is unnecessary and may decrease the effectiveness of the food. When using with Canine k/d canned, decrease the amount of dry food to avoid overfeeding.
