| When selecting a vet there are a lot of things to consider. - Is the vet’s location convenient to you?
- Is the vet available for phone consultations?
- Does the vet hear you and pay attention to what you are saying?
- Does the vet share the same general approach as you do in terms of conservative treatment or a no-holds barred approach?
- Is your vet open to consulting with other veterinarians and specialists?
- Is your vet open to alternate modalities of treatment?
- Will your vet let you stay with your dog while he or she is being examined?
- Does the vet have a good bedside manner?
- Is your vet willing to listen to your input?
- Are you comfortable talking to the vet and do you understand them?
- Are the facilities clean?
You should be able to answer “Yes” to most if not all of these questions. If you are unable to do so perhaps that vet is not the right one for you. |
