Kane pet heat mats operate at a constant wattage. The level of heat is affected by outside environmental conditions. The mat's temperature is set to operate ideally in outdoor weather between 40 degrees and -10 degrees F. In warmer conditions the Rheostat control allows you to select the amount of warmth your pet needs. The Rheostat control is recommended on mats used indoors when the room temperature is above 60 degrees. The heat mat may not feel warm to the touch. As the animal lies on the mat surface the body traps the heat thereby giving the animal the desired warming effect. Pet heat mat temperature control (Model HMR-300 - Rheostat 300 watt) must be used when heat mat is installed inside any confined area. Made in USA.
