Glucosamine* and creatine* play a role in the maintenance of joint function in dogs.
SynoviCre is a nutritional supplement containing glucosamine and creatine. Glucosamine, a naturally occurring amino sugar found in all tissues of the body and an integral part of the "glue" which holds tissue cells together, is necessary for the production of key connective tissue components that replenish and maintain articular cartilage, returns viscosity to the synovial fluid and enhances its ability to carry vital nutrients necessary to rebuild cartilage and insulates the bone from friction and cushion the joint in movement. Glucosamine has also been shown to inhibit free radical production, considered responsible for the biochemical events such as aging and tissue degeneration. Creatine enhances the energy required to fuel the contraction of muscle, allowing the muscle to strengthen and provide support to the joint.
