Dextrose 50% is an aid in treating dextrose deficiencies, including acetonemia or ketosis in cattle. Dextrose raises blood sugar levels and reduces the ketone bodies in the blood while eliminating the usage of body fat, preventing weight loss and possible death in cases of extreme exhaustion and debility.
