Rx Azithromycin (Zithromax) Suspension

Azithromycin works by preventing bacteria from producing proteins that are essential to them. Without these proteins the bacteria cannot grow replicate and increase numbers. Azithromycin therefore stops the spread of infection and remaining bacteria are killed by the body's immune system or eventually die.

Indications:

For veterinarian-directed use in animals with susceptible bacterial infections. In cats, veterinary references also describe extra-label use for certain upper respiratory infections and other specific infectious diseases. In dogs, azithromycin may be incorporated into treatment protocols for selected infections. Use should be based on veterinary diagnosis, and when appropriate, bacterial culture and susceptibility information.

Directions for use:

Administer orally exactly as prescribed by your veterinarian. Shake the suspension thoroughly before every dose. Thorough mixing is necessary before measuring each dose.

Storage:

Store dry powder at 20°C to 25°C (68°F to 77°F) (See USP Controlled Room Temperature). Protect from freezing. Keep container tightly closed.

After mixing, store constituted azithromycin for oral suspension at 5° to 25°C (41° to 77°F) and use within 10 days. Discard after full dosing is completed.
