Rx Profender® for Cats

Profender® (emodepside + praziquantel) is a prescription topical parasiticide formulated to treat and control common intestinal parasites in cats and kittens. This ready-to-use, clear yellow to brownish solution targets and eliminates all stages of hookworms (Ancylostoma tubaeforme), roundworms (Toxocara cati), and tapeworms (Dipylidium caninum and Taenia taeniaeformis), including the developing L4, sexually immature adult, and adult stages. Profender provides a broad spectrum of protection and helps prevent further development of intestinal nematodes and cestodes.

Packaged in convenient unit-dose applicator tubes, Profender is safe for cats and kittens 8 weeks of age or older and weighing at least 1 lb. The formulation is designed to deliver a minimum dose of 0.36 mg/lb (3 mg/kg) of emodepside and 5.45 mg/lb (12 mg/kg) of praziquantel per kilogram of body weight.

Directions:

Always follow your veterinarian's instructions. Apply to the skin at the base of the skull at the recommended minimum dose of 0.14 ml of Profender per kg of body weight. This delivers 0.36 mg/lb (3 mg/kg) of emodepside and 5.45 mg/lb (12 mg/kg) of praziquantel.

Weight of Cat:

• 2.2–5.5 lbs – Small
• 5.5–11 lbs – Medium
• 11–17.6 lbs – Large
• *Cats over 17.6 lbs should be treated with an appropriate combination of tubes.

Administration:

Remove one pipette from the package. Hold upright, twist and pull off the cap. Use the opposite end of the cap to break the seal. Part the fur at the base of the skull until the skin is visible. Place the tip of the pipette directly on the skin and squeeze firmly several times to apply the full dose. Application at the base of the skull minimizes the chance of the cat licking off the product.

Storage Conditions:

Store at or below 77°F (25°C). Protect from freezing.
